my favorite color is green, according to some people, i love peanut butter a little too much, but i think i like it just right, pinot noir is my favorite wine (we affectionately call it Black Peanut), if i could get paid in wine and peanut butter, i would, i love the beach, therefore, i live at it, i like big dogs, therefore have two of them, i like to surf (long boards rule!), i dig music, and play the guitar when i have time, i love to cook.
I hope you enjoy looking at my work. Feel free to cruise around my blog, and let me know if you have any questions about anything at all.
Cheers,
Jerry

…as i write this now, our dog, dixie, is being put to sleep. we’ve had dixie for about 10 years. we got her as a pup. our kids have grown up with her and have not known life without her. she has been very ill and unable to move. since she hasn’t moved at all in a few days, we decided that it’s time. we’ll miss dixie.
when we first got dixie, we didn’t know what to do with her. it was a humerous situation. but, it was winter time, and she was such a small little thing, we couldn’t leave her in the house. so, we decided to leave her in the back yard that she is sitting in in the picture below. as i said, it was winter time. and, during that day, it rained. i was at work, and i couldn’t do anything about it. when i finally got home, i got home to a tiny little shivering dog. she had a little dog house to go into to protect her from the rain, but she probably couldn’t figure out to go in it or something. after that day, i decided we needed to put in a doggie door so she could go in and out. that seemed to fix the problem.
this is what she looked like then…

dogs are lots of work, and take a big effort to care for them. in that process, you form amazing bonds with them. her sister is very sad and was howling this week, and she has never howled in her life. i just hope her sister can make it through the trauma. shortly after we got dixie, we realized that she needed a companion. so, we got molly. molly was around the same age and they have grown up together. while all of us are sad to see dixie go, i’m sure her sister is going to be very sad to find her sister gone.
this is what she looked like all grown up. sleep well girl. we’ll miss you.

…it’s always a struggle for me to be an active participant in an event, or step back and be an observer. fortunately, at family gatherings, i can sort of do both; get in there and be part of it, and step away at certain times and get some images. but, mostly, i like to participate. at any rate, at my son’s recent birthday party, i took a few pics of the goings on. i hope you enjoy…

…someone hooked me up with this awesome article. i’m a bit moved right now. on my blog, i try to generally stay away from stuff like this, but the power of a story through photographs is just something that moves me. i can’t describe it. but, if you look through these, you’ll notice some things, and i hope these photographs not only speak to your heart, but also remind you of the men and women that have sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today. also, i hope it opens your heart to the human side of war. humans are humans every where in the world, and we all think and feel alike. we all have mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and friends. all of us feel. war is played out in the offices of politicians. not only do we lose warriors and soldiers that fight for our freedom, but the other side is that innocent civilions die, lose their homes, babies lose their mothers, little girls and boys get taken away, and families get split apart never to see each other again. some survive, some don’t. it’s bad all the way around. hopefully, someday, there will be another way to resolve conflict. with that said, please take a look and let me know your thoughts. http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2010/05/vietnam_35_years_later.html

i love old pasadena. and, it was a perfect day for a wedding there.
it is possible that this is the most wedding images i’ve ever shown on my blog from a single wedding. but, i’m sure you wont mind that.
getting ready was at the Marriot Courtyard in Pasadena.
ceremony was held at st philips catholic church
reception was at Cafe Santarini on Union St.
assisting me that day was Michael Andrews who shot the guys getting ready and provided alternate coverage throughout the day.

This shot was fun. We were done shooting in this little area, and this kid saw us walking by and yelled, “you look so beautiful” to the bride. So, she stopped and gave him a little kiss.

…well, well, well. yeah, so much for the daily blog. LOL. But, I’m back. Daily Blog = FAIL!
I wanted to share with you an album that was created from Melissa & Steve’s wedding not too long ago. This wedding was at Tivoli too and we created the portraits at the beach in Laguna. I hope you enjoy. Be patient and give it about a minute to load up. It’s worth it.

…on sunday of this week, andrew and i hit the dodgers stadium. it was his first time seeing a pro game after starting his career in the pony league. he was pretty stoked to see his favoite player, casey blake. we were both a little disappointed that manny rameriz wasn’t playing, at least not up until the 7th inning. then, in the 8th, manny rameriz basically won the game, 2-1 dodgers. great day out on the field.
saturday was a great wedding day. i love spending the day in old pasadena. i’ll have some images from that wedding soon.
here’s an image from my iphone from the game…

…today starts the series of frugal friday. what is frugal friday, you ask? well, it’s a way for me to tell you what to do, and how to save money, without me having to do it. Ha! Not really. In fact, I need to be a little more frugal in my daily life. I kind of like spending money. Let’s face it, I like nice things. I deserve nice things. But, sometimes, I go overboard. So, I’ve decided that it might be somewhat cathartic to write about it once a week and tell you about little ways that I am saving money for myself. It’s not a big deal, just small things that can make a difference over a long period of time.
so, here’s the first thing I’ve done this week. (I feel like I need a drum roll). I stopped going to the dry cleaners, unless the item says, “dry clean only”. Now, it’s kind of a drag to have to iron shirts, but whatever. It takes about 15 minutes and the result is about the same-ish. I’m a guy, so i’m allowed to be a little wrinkly.
Anyway, that’s it. It’s not a huge savings, but it will add up over the next 12 months. If I spend $10/week, that’s $520 over a 12 month period. That would buy approximately 52 bottles of Pinot Noir. So, I’m all over it!
Anyway, that’s it. I hope this is helpful to at least one person out there.
I’ll be off shooting a wedding in Pasadena tomorrow, and then Sunday, at the ball park with my son. So, I’ll talk to you folks again on Monday. Have a great weekend. Peace, Love, and Wine.
Cheers,
Jerry Frazier
