My friend Maria came over and wanted a headshot for her facebook profile. We went in the backyard and I fired off a few shots and came out with this. I think she liked it. I certainly do.

I shot Gina & Matt’s wedding in July 2006 (Blog Post). It was fun to shoot their family session last week.
It’s great to see clients from the past. I love it!
Also, as a side note, it’s still not too late for some last minute for Holiday photos.

XM & Sirius Merge

In June, when I purchased my Toyota FJ Crusier, I was on the fence about getting satellite radio. I had a choice between XM and Sirius. I went with XM just because I felt they were bigger and might be around longer than Sirius. Today, I get into my car, and find that I have extra stations and different music channels, and Howard Stern! Cool. It seems that XM is now offering the best of Sirius, and Sirius is offering the best of XM. Can you tell I’m excited about this?
It is so nice to listen to the radio without having those distracting ads. Some of the stations have a little bit of DJ talk, but it’s very minimal, they don’t drone on and on. I was really on the fence about paying to have radio, but it’s very cheap, and it’s really awesome. Similar to cable TV, how many years ago people just thought there was no way anyone would pay for something that is already free (ha, ha!).
Anyway, big props to two huge media companies for getting together and making a cool product even better.

ISPWP Competition

Hey folks,
I didn’t even know I placed in this competition until the other day. Over on ispwp.com there’s a quarterly photo competition for those who are members. I did pretty well considering the competition over there; some of the best photojournalists in the world are competing. Here are mine:
This one is categorized under emotional impact and placed 11th.
This image was categorized under “Kids will be Kids” and placed 4th.
…and this portrait was categorized under “Bride & Groom Portrait” and placed 4th.
I’m pretty happy about this. I can’t wait to enter again. I don’t enter many contests, but I’ll probably keep this one up and keep pushing myself to do better.
