…and the winner is…

…Jennifer and David.

Stockton, CA

The free wedding photography contest was a success. I was so touched by their story and what they had to say, that I just fell in love with this couple.

Many of the stories I recieved were just so very touching that it was a very difficult decision for me. Many factors went into the decision. I was so appreciative at how so many people from all over the country had contacted me and told me very personal things about their lives. It broke my heart that I could not shoot everyones wedding for them.

I am so happy that I get to give this gift to Jennifer and David. They are an awesome couple that completely deserves this gift.

Thank you to all those who contributed and told me their stories. I wish you all well, and just hope that you find a way to make your weddings work.

…the end of the world as we know it…

…this is a little bit cool, and a little bit depressing. anyway, for what it’s worth, i guess it’s pretty cool…

Tiffany & Luis

Hotel: Coast Hotel
Wedding & Reception: The Reef, Long Beach

Tiffany & Luis got married at The Reef in Long Beach, CA. It was a beautiful day, awesome couple, great venue, photographically speaking, we couldn’t have asked for more. Personally speaking, we had so much fun shooting this wedding. It was a true pleasure. Tiffany works at MAC, and when she first said that I was trying to think of a way to work in a deal on a new ipod or something. Then, she tells me it’s a make-up company, I felt kind of dumb. Duh! Luis is an officer with the LAPD and he’s an all around really nice guy. He has such a kind demeanor. I really appreciate the work officers do (except the ones that give parking tickets…;) ). Anyway, moving right along…

Here are some of my favorite shots from their day. First, I just loved this cake topper.

I love this shoe shot.

This was a gift from Luis…

The gift…

Da boyz…

Tiffany was so easy to photograph. I think she had been practicing for a while, but it paid off!

This was a shot before the ceremony. Some folks were just hanging out. I like the way it turned out.

These guys were game for anything. They were a ton of fun!

This was literally in the middle of the highway. But, they had no fear about doing it, and me? I’ll do anything.

The first dance.

And I love this shot after the cake cutting.

Congrats to Tiffany and Luis. May they live long and proliferate.

Karen & Demetrios

Getting Ready: Renaissance Long Beach Hotel
Wedding: Assumption Greek Orthodox Church
Reception: Alamitos Bay Yacht Club
Caterer: Georges Greek Cafe
Officiant: John Roll

Karen and Demetrios, or ‘Jimmy’ as he is called, were just awesome people to work with. I hadn’t met them until the day of the wedding. But, through my phone conversations with Karen, I knew everything would be really great. They own Geroge’s Greek Cafe in Long Beach. Awesome food. Be sure to go there sometime if you’re in the area.

Here are some of my absolute favorite images from their day.

The shoes were killer.

Karen and her dad just before she walked down the isle.

‘Jimmy’ anticipating his bride.

A few portraits from the day.

The first dance.

Another portriat. After the first dance, we went up to the top of the Yacht Club. The sun was just perfect and we got some really great portraits.

I just loved the entire series of Jimmy taking off the garter. But, this one is my absolute favorite.

Karen told me several times during our phone conversations that there was a surprise, but I guess Jimmy was always there when we were talking so she couldn’t tell me. But, her and the girls put on leather jackets and sang Iron Maiden’s song, “Flight of Icarus”. It was awesome!

After that, there was dancing, mayhem, and line dancing…

Congratulations to both Karen and ‘Jimmy’!

I went for a walk around my neighborhood

I’m thinking about getting a new lens. Britney loaned this lens to me, so I just went walking around the neighborhood snapping whatever looked interesting to me. The lens requires manual focus and all manual settings. It’s somewhat difficult to use until you get the hang of it. I got it pretty quickly. I defintely will have to invest in this lens. Here are a few images from my walk-about…

Cheers,

Surfing in Southern California

During Saturday’s engagement session, the surf was going off. I’ve always wanted to do surfing shots, but have never taken the time out to try. I’ve really become out of touch with when the waves are good for photos because I just don’t seem to have the time anymore. But, Saturday was a good day.

I think I’m going to make a concerted effort to get out and do this more often.  It was great just being out there and snapping a few pics.

You gotta love SoCal in the winter :)

What to Buy for Christmas

There’s still time to buy me a gift. For those tearing their hair out trying to figure out what to get the guy who has everything, I made it easy for you all.

1. I updated my Amazon.com wish list. You can go in there, search for my wish list, under Jerry Frazier, and buy me whatever you want from that list. :)

2. You can simply send me an Amazon.com gift certificate in any amount.

3. I LOVE music, and I LOVE ITunes, so I also really LOVE ITunes gift certificates.

There’s still 10 days left to Christmas, so there’s lots of time.

Oh, and if you really want to go all out and show me the love, I’ve been eyeing this baby for a little while now:

Happy holidays.
